Join the team at Nordic NDT AB

About the Job

In the role of testing engineer/technician, you will either be on-site at the customer’s location performing inspections directly, or conducting testing and analyzing materials in Nordic’s laboratory. You will work with inspections of newly produced objects, recurring inspections, or preventive maintenance to assess the status and condition of objects and their critical components.

The work includes performing visual inspections, ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, crack detection, and leak testing. Your role will be varied, with exposure to different work environments, customers, and objects. During a typical week, you will encounter a variety of objects such as pressure vessels, tanks, pipelines, beams, bridges, and more.

“Freedom with responsibility” is a recurring theme at Nordic, where you are given the opportunity to plan your working days based on both your own and the customer’s schedule. The position is based in Stockholm and involves daily business travel.

Who We Are Looking For / About You

If you are curious, responsible, service-minded, socially skilled, and have a genuine interest in technology, then you are the person we are looking for.

Whether you are at the beginning of your career or have previous experience in similar work does not matter – we believe that personal qualities and the right attitude are most important.

We value people who enjoy working together with others but who can also work independently, taking responsibility for their own planning, reporting, and customer contact. At Nordic, you will become an important part of the team, and having fun at work is something we see as a given. We share our knowledge and expertise in a constant effort to develop, both as individuals and as a company.

About Nordic NDT AB

Since our founding in 1996, we have prioritized safety, technology, sustainability, and strong customer service with short decision-making paths.

Today we are 8 people in the company who collaborate and share experiences with other businesses in the same industry, which in practice means that we have many more colleagues.

It is varied work, often involving new and diverse assignments and workplaces, primarily within the Greater Stockholm area. Our main working area is Stockholm and Mälardalen, but we also perform assignments throughout Sweden. Work outside regular hours occurs during certain periods.

As the company’s “face to the customer,” you are expected to have an open attitude and the ability to build good relationships with both clients and colleagues.

Our overall task is to ensure quality in constructions and to detect deviations early, preventing costly breakdowns or, in the worst case, accidents.

We are primarily focused on testing and inspection of metallic materials, steel structures, pressure-bearing equipment, and welded joints.

Our non-destructive testing methods include ultrasonic/phased array, radiographic testing, magnetic testing, penetrant testing, and visual inspection – all to ensure that the final product is both quality-assured and reliable.

All technicians are trained and certified according to EN ISO 9712 and undergo continuous further training to maintain and improve their competence levels. Nordic NDT has been accredited by Swedac since 1997 for ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, magnetic testing, penetrant testing, and visual inspection.

We also perform steel construction inspections according to SS-EN 1090-1, -2, -3, and -4, with underlying Eurocodes. Our laboratory and office have been located in Saltsjö-Boo, Nacka Municipality since 1996.
